Terms of service

These terms apply to the kilowatts.io app on iOS, Android and the web ("kilowatts.io"), provided by Kilowatts.io Limited (company number 10378895), 35 Bellever Close, Princetown, Yelverton PL20 6RT, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). By using kilowatts.io you agree to them. How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy policy.

Not for trading

KILOWATTS.IO IS NOT FOR TRADING. DO NOT USE IT TO TRADE.

  • Do not use kilowatts.io, or any data, price, forecast, chart, alert, AI answer, API or MCP output from it, to make, time, size or justify any trade in electricity, gas, carbon, capacity or any other commodity, financial instrument or contract.
  • Do not use it to prepare or submit bids, offers, physical notifications, nominations or any other submission to a market, exchange or system operator.
  • Nothing from kilowatts.io is investment, financial, trading or operational advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. We are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority and provide no regulated services.
  • Data can be late, incomplete, revised or wrong, including data we receive from third parties. Forecasts are estimates and will often be wrong.
  • If you make trading, operational or financial decisions, use authoritative sources and your own professional advice. You alone are responsible for those decisions.
  • As far as the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss arising from using kilowatts.io for trading or for any of the purposes above.

This applies to every plan, including organisation plans, unless a separate written agreement signed by us says otherwise.

Your account

  • Keep your sign-in secure and don't share your account. One account per person.
  • You must be 16 or older.
  • We may suspend accounts that appear to be shared or that break these terms.

Subscriptions

  • Some features need a paid subscription. You are billed by Apple, Google or Stripe, depending on where you subscribed.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time in App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or in the billing page on our website for web subscriptions.
  • Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google under their rules; we cannot refund those charges ourselves. For web subscriptions, contact support@kilowatts.io.
  • If we offer a free trial, you will be charged at the normal price when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
  • Prices include VAT where it applies.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel it separately.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Acceptable use

Don't:

  • resell, republish or redistribute data from kilowatts.io without our written agreement;
  • scrape our services, get around usage limits, or reverse-engineer the app;
  • use kilowatts.io for anything unlawful or to interfere with others' use of it.

Accuracy of information

kilowatts.io shows information derived from third-party and public data sources. We work to keep it accurate but cannot guarantee it is complete, correct or up to date. It is for general information only; see Not for trading.

Liability

  • We provide kilowatts.io "as is". As far as the law allows, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue or business, or for indirect or consequential loss.
  • Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
  • Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under UK law.

Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with notice where reasonable. If we close your account when you have done nothing wrong, we will refund the unused part of any web subscription you paid us for directly.

Changes

If we make a significant change to these terms, we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
